CITY (NewsDakota.com) We’ve already heard about the housing shortage in Carrington and other cities further west. But could there be one here someday in Valley City due to the oil boom in western North Dakota.

Valley City officials say while there is no shortage of housing opportunities right now there appears to be a slow trickle down effect from some who have moved into Valley City from the west.

City Assessor Nick Lee says as the cost of housing rises in the west retired couples have made more inquires about moving to the eastern half of the state.
