JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board has selected their newest rural school board member during a Monday evening meeting.

On a unanimous 8-0 vote, Melissa Gleason was voted in to succeed Sedric Trevithick. Trevithick was found to be ineligible to serve the school district after he had moved out of the district. He had previously been appointed to serve out a two year term.

In the June 12th primaries, no candidate filed to run for the other rural seat, held by Greg Allen who decided not to seek re-election. Allen received majority write-in votes and has agreed to serve another term. He has been with the board for more than 20 years.

Others who received write-in votes include Heidi Williams, Mark Sherfy, Kelley Seckerson, and Sara Wilson.
