JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington used strong pitching a to pickup two wins Friday at Day 1 of the 5th Annual Phil Brown American Legion Baseball Classic in Jamestown. Post 25 beat Minot 10-0 in five innings and Jamestown 4-0.

Seth Nelson had never pitched competitively until Friday night when he started Carrington’s first game of the tournament. All he did was pitch 4 2/3 no-hit innings leading Post 25 to a five inning win. Drew Page got the final out to complete the gem. Nelson walked five and struck out four. Page struck out the only batter he faced.
Offensively, Kyle Leapolt led the way with two hits and two rbi. Jayden Shipman added two doubles and Trey Rosenau had two rbi. Payton Smith and Lucas Geisler each scored twice.

Not to be outdone, Kyle Leapolt tossed a complete game three hitter in the final game of the day.
The right-hander walked one and struck out eight over seven innings. At one time he would retire eleven straight Jamestown batters.
Leapolt also did it at the plater with two hits and he drove in a run. Lucas Geisler scored two runs as Carrington improves to 11-2 overall.
Ryder Lunzman, Tommy Falk and Chris Erickson had the hits for Jamestown.

Drew Murray scattered four hits in seven innings in the second game of the day. Murray walked two and struck out four. Post 14 would get all the runs they would need when they scored three in the first inning, highlighted by Tommy Falk’s run scoring double. Chris Erickson drove in two runs and Kohl Kratz had an rbi on a sacrifice fly. Jamestown in now 10-8 on the season.
Carrington will play two games on Saturday starting with Devils Lake at 12:45 and finishing with Gillette, Wyoming at 8:15. Both games can be heard on 1600 KDAK The Cardinal and NewsDakota.com with the pregame about 15 minutes before the first pitch
Jamestown will face West Fargo in its only game of the day at 5:45. Pregame at 5:30 on 1400 ESPN and NewsDakota.com
