(NewsDakota.com)-Jamestown College and Valley City St. met Saturday in a baseball doubleheader at Charlie Brown Field in Valley City. It was the third and fourth meeting between the schools this year.

The Jimmies have won all four, taking the games 5-3 and 4-2. JC has won the last 18 games against the Vikings. Their last loss came four years ago today (April 16th, 2008 VCSU won 12-5).

VCSU staked themselves to a 2-0 lead in game 1 during the third inning. A lead-off double followed by a bunt single tallied the first run. Preston Jensen added a sac-fly.

Jamestown scored twice in the top of the 8th to break a 3-3 tie and Nick Smart struck out the side to slam the door.

The second game looked destined for extra innings as well, before Kyle Mallory’s two-run single broke the tie in the 7th. Kacy Gardiner worked the bottom for the save.

The games today with Valley City have been postponed again and moved to Tuesday.
