funeral service for Eugene L. Ten Clay, 82, Valley City, ND, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Steve Mundfrom of Grace Free Lutheran Church, Valley City, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Greenville, IL.  He died in the Circle of Life Cottage at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City on April 14, 2012.  

Visitation will be an hour prior to the service on Monday.          

Eugene Lawrence Ten Clay was born on August 17, 1929 to Henry and Minnie (Renskers) Ten Clay in Westfield, ND.  He was the youngest of 15 children.          

On January 27, 1977 he married Norma Hill at First Christian Church in Greenville, IL.  She died January 1, 2001 and is buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.          

Eugene worked many years for Raphael Draperies and Fabrics.  He worked mainly on auditorium stage curtains and draperies.  When he moved to Greenville, he established his own company, Ten Clay’s Curtains and Draperies.         

Norma and Eugene enjoyed traveling and took many cruises together.          

He is survived by a brother, Elsworth Ten Clay of Zeeland, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ralph (Jane) Ten Clay, Mrs. Albert (Arlene) Ten Clay, and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Ten Clay; and many nieces and nephews.
