JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The use of car seats for children is vital to to their safety.
Making sure those car seats are installed correctly is just as important.
During the Kids Safety Day event today at the Jamestown Civic Center, Central Valley Health will also be working to conduct a free car seat checkup from 2 to 6 PM.
“There will be lots of local certified technicians to check seats,” CVH’s Shannon Kaiser stated. “4 out of 5 car seats/booster seats are used incorrectly.[We’re] hoping to get as many people to come get checked as possible.”
According to the North Dakota Department of Health, car seat checkups teach the public how to correctly use their child’s car seat or seat belt. Trained and certified child passenger safety technicians work with the public to ensure that children are restrained according to their specific needs.
