Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–Carrington has won 9 straight games after a doubleheader sweep of Fargo’s Post 400, 12-5 & 11-0.

Kyle Leapaldt went 3-3 (3 doubles), drove in 5 runs, scored 1 run, had a stolen base, and walked 1 time to lead Post 25 to victory in game 1 of the doubleheader. Lucas Geiszler was the winning pitcher, allowing 5 unearned runs on 6 hits, struck out 6 batters, and walked 1 batter. Geiszler also went 2-4 at the plate, scored 1 run, and added an RBI. Brandon Larson also went 2-3 and scored 2 runs for Post 25. Caleb Carlisle went 2-4 for Fargo and he also was the losing pitcher allowing 11 runs (3 earned runs). Carrington trailed 3-1 going to the bottom of the second inning. Post 25 scored 5 runs, capped off by a 3 run bases clearing double from Leapaldt. Another 5 run inning in the fifth put the game out of reach as Post 25 cruised to the 12-5 victory.

Carrington scored 7 runs in the top of the first inning and rolled to an 11-0 win in game 2 of the twin bill. Post 400 starting pitcher Tim Victor allowed all 7 runs in the first inning and did not record an out before being replaced by Wyatt Johnson. Nic Lyman went 3-3 for Post 25, had 3 RBI, and scored 1 run. Leapaldt went 1-1, 2 runs, RBI, and 2 BB. Seth Nelson was the winning pitcher, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing just 2 hits  and striking out 5 Fargo batters. Nelson also went 1-3, scored 2 runs, and had 2 RBI. Post 25 added 3 more runs in the second inning, another run in the fifth, and the game was shortened to 5 innings via the 10 run rule. Post 25 has now won 9 games in a row and improved to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in Central Region play. Post 400 dropped to 2-12 overall and 0-6 in Central Region play. Carrington will travel to Webster, S.D. this weekend for three games starting on Friday.
