JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council adjourned Tuesday afternoon Sine Die after finishing some business before introducing the newest councilmembers.

During the Tuesday meeting, the council certified the results of the 2018 Primary and City Election. Dwaine Heinrich received the majority vote for Mayor with 1,282, David Steele received 1,746 for the council seat, Lawrence P. Kropp received 1,986 for Municipal Judge and Mike Landscoot, Mike Soulis, and Mindi Schmitz received the top votes for the City Park Board.

Later in the meeting, the bid for the 2018 Safe Routes to School Sidewalk project was discussed. Acting City Engineer Travis Dillman stated they had received 5 bids for the project.

The grant was applied for in January 2017 by Central Valley Health and will be used in an 80/20 split with the city for construction costs.

Following that discussion, Mayor Katie Andersen made her final motion as Mayor for the City of Jamestown.

Following the adjournment, City Administrator Sarah Helleckson presented Andersen with a plaque thanking her for her past 8 years of service.

Ramone Gumke also received recognition for his past 8 years on the council.
