JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For more than 120 years, the Stutsman County Fair has entertained thousands. The fair returns for its 121st year June 27th-30th.

Stutsman County Fair Board Member Jim Exner has seen 34 of those fairs since serving on the board. He says it’s the largest county fair in the state.

Exner says Murphy Bros. will have the midway full with 26 different rides. He says Mega Pases return at a cost of $50 from Neighborhood Grocery & Gas and Jetstream Car Wash in Jamestown. The pass will allow for unlimited rides all 4 days of the fair. They will be available until Wednesday only.

Exner says highlights of the fair include the rodeo, stock car races, 4-H and FFA exhibits, weiner dog races and the concerts all four nights. Performing this year will be Bolder Shades of Blue Wednesday, The Johnny Holm Band Thursday, IV Play Friday, and Unleashed! Saturday.

One new thing at this year’s fair will be the Banana Derby. Exner says the show will feature real monkeys posing as jockeys on dogs and racing. Exner says it’s a blast and will show multiple times during the course of the fair.

And Exner says don’t forget about the food.

Exner says it’s an exciting time of the year and the grounds crews have been at work preparing the midway and more for the fair since May 1st.

Another new thing at the fair will be the first ever Cornhole Tournament. Exner says up to 64 teams will compete in a double elimination style tournament on Saturday, June 30th for prizes. Individuals can sign up at Don Wilhelm’s in Jamestown or Cork & Barrel Liquors.

Gate admission is $5 for 13 years and older, $2 for 7-12 years old, and 6 & Under get in free.
