VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County has one interesting race in District #4 as we head into the June 12th primary election.

In District #4 Terence R. Brock, Vicky Lovell, Erik Sand and Marcy Svenningsen are in the race. The top two candidates who receive the most votes in the June 12th primary will face each other in the November 6th general election.

In the Barnes County District #2 Shawn Olauson is running unopposed. If no write-in candidates are entered during the June 12th primary. Olauson would appear alone on the November ballot.

In the District #3 race incumbent Bill Carlblom faces former commissioner Eldred Knutson. After the June 12th primary both candidates will be on the November ballot.

In the Barnes County Sheriff’s race, Incumbent Randy McClaflin faces a challenge by Sue Maresh Lloyd who serves as the emergency manager. After the June 12th primary both candidates will be on the November ballot.

For those who have not voted early, the June 12th primary/election polling place will be in the Barnes County Courthouse for all eligible Barnes County voters.
