The advisory will be in effect from 1 pm to 7 pm Thursday. With heat index values expected to be near 100 degrees, it’s going to be extremely hot.

The National Weather Service states “The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of water, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on friends and neighbors. Never leave pets or children unattended in vehicles. If heat stroke occurs, call 911.”
