(NewsDakota.com) Post 25 was back in action last night against the Jamestown Blues Post 14 in a non-section contest, the first game went to Jamestown 4-3, Carrington won the second 11-4. Carrington’s overall record is 16-10-1, Jamestown is 9-16.
In the first game, Carrington Post 25 jumped out to an early 2-0 in the first inning and added another run in the sixth, but Jamestown scored one run in the third and two runs in the sixth to tie it up. After Conner Neva reached on a single to lead of the seventh for Jamestown, Brain Wenzel hit an RBI triple to put Jamestown ahead for good as Carrington did not score in the bottom of the seventh. Tanner Lunzman picked up the victory for Post 14, going the distance, allowing only four hits, four walks and had three strikeouts.
Brady Smith was the losing pitcher for Carrington, he had three strikeouts, one walk and allowed six hits. Taylor Skytland was 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk and two stolen bases. Patrick Freeman was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.
Next up for Carrington Post 25 will be a two game road trip starting tonight against Nelson County in Tolna at 4:30pm. Then they will be at Steele on Wednesday, July 17th at 5pm.
