CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner girls track team set 11 personal records in winning their home track meet yesterday at Shelly Ellig Field at Valley City State University.

Valley City scored 203 points, besting Jamestown’s 177 for the title.  LaMoure-Litchville-Marion was third with 82 points, followed by Barnes County North’s 70. 

Molly Willson and Jenna Jacob continued to duel in the 100-meter dash, with Willson finishing first at 12.75, and Jacob second at 13 flat.  The Hi-Liners would go on to win three more track events, with Allyson Suhr taking honors in the 1600-meter run at 5:36.40, and the team winning the 200-meter relay and the 3200-meter relay.

Beyond Suhr, the Hi-Liners dominated the 1600-meter run, winning six of the eight places, with April Berntson second and Mikaylah Ross fourth.  Berntson would add a title in the high jump, and Mataya Olson won the javelin throw. 

Blue Jay titles included McKayla Orr in the 200-meter dash (28.66), Alison Almer in the 800-meter run (2:33.24), Kelsey Urquhart in the shotput (33’4″), and the 400 and 1600-meter relay teams.

Central Prairie won two titles.  Courtney Heupel won the 400-meter dash (1:02.30) and Madi Moldenhauer won the 300-meter hurdles (55.62).  Barnes County North had two champions, with SaraLi Peterson winning the 100-meter hurdles (17.56), and Lyndsey Erker winning the pole vault (6’6″). 

LaMoure-L-M also won two titles.  Sadie Cochran claimed the triple jump title (33’4″) and Chantel Johnson won the discus throw (80’11”).  Shayna Fossum of Hillsboro won the 3200-meter run (12:08.30).

Next up for the Hi-Liners will be their boys invitational at VCSU on Thursday.
