MANDAN N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After an 0-6 start to the season, the Jamestown Blue Jay softball team settled into a late season groove that saw 14 wins in the last 18 games, and 10 wins in the last 12 games. Part of that streak was eight games in five days.

With the post season here, the Blue Jays are ready to continue that success and make a run at a state tournament berth, their third in four years.

Head Coach Mike Soulis says better hitting and fielding have contributed to the success. But the contributions of the younger players has also been key.

The fifth seeded Blue Jays will play fourth seeded Bismarck in the West Region first round. The two teams split the four games during the regular season. Soulis says the key to a win Thursday will be simple.
