VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Valley City Public School District took a big step towards “Restoring The Legacy” of Hanna Field when they broke ground for the 1st phase of the track project Wednesday afternoon.
The ceremony brought together members of the school board, staff, alumni and members of the community to kick off the project which will officially begin Monday. During the program superintendent Josh Johnson shared his hopes that the renovation will benefit everyone in Valley City
Also in attendance were current members of The Hi-Liner track and field team along with the coaching staff. Head coach Trevor Bakalar says the new facility has been a long time coming
The initial phase of the project includes building a track, addressing water drainage issues and constructing an athletic storage building. The target completion date is August of this year. A camera will bet set up on The Hanna Field press box to help the public monitor the track’s progress.
