VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Commission approved of the 3rd Avenue Southeast street improvement project during their May 15th regular meeting.

KLJ engineer Chad Petersen said the bid of $1,020,000 by Swanberg construction was accepted. The local cost share for the city will be $359,507 dollars. The cost share ratio with this Urban Grant Project with the NDDOT is 80/20.

The city commission approved of a motion to go forward with the 3rd Avenue Southeast improvement project. Petersen said pending final NDDOT approval, work could begin in mid-June. The reconstruction of 3rd Avenue Southeast will run from Main Street to 4th Street Southeast.
