VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners won in dramatic walk-off fashion Friday at Charlie Brown Field. It is the first win of the season for the Hi-Liners.

With the score tied at 1 going to the bottom of the sixth, Easton Hesch reached on a error scoring the winning run, lifting the Hi-Liners to the 2-1 win over Fargo Davies.

Reese Huschka got the win on the mound. He went two shutout innings. He allowed one hit and struckout one. Corey Nelson started and went the first four innings. He allowed one unearned run with four strikeouts and a walk.

Huschka, John Beutler, Avery Bennefeld, Riley Gerhardt and Connor May had the hits for Valley City.

Matthew Haugen tossed a two hitter with 11 strikeouts for Fargo Davies in the first game which the Eagles won 8-0.

The Hi-Liners are back in action Tuesday at Wahpeton for a doubleheader.
