JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Montpelier man is in custody after calling police to tell them he shot and killed his ex-wife on Saturday.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says numerous calls came in just before 4 PM Saturday afternoon in Southeast Jamestown.

Police were dispatched to 503 15th Street Southeast. Edinger says minutes after the reported calls, one came in from 27 year-old Kevin Michael Hoff requesting he be arrested for killing his ex-wife.

On Sunday, Chief Edinger reported that the victim was Nicole Haliaaloh Gututala-Hoff, 25, of Jamestown.

“It could be several weeks before results are returned,” Edinger stated. “The children of the suspect and victim have been placed with family in the Jamestown area. This continues to be an open and active investigation and no further details will be released at this time.”

The Jamestown Police Department is being assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
