Coach’s Comments

We beat Davies yesterday 5-4 by two points in two separate matches.  We topped that match today in how close a match really can be.  We beat Fargo North 5-4 in incredible fashion.  Reagan and Cali won both their singles matches and then their doubles match for 3 wins.  Hannah and Angela played a very good #3 doubles team and lost.  Both Hannah’s gave a valiant effort in singles, but came up short.  Hope probably played one of the best #4 players in the state and lost putting the match at 3-4.

Then, we witnessed two epic comebacks.   Hannah D. and Hope fought off a match point in their doubles match before coming back to win it.  Then, at 4-4, the match came down to Angela in singles.  Angela split sets and was down 2-5 in the third set with both teams watching just her match.  Angela came back to win the next five games in a row to win 7-5 and fought off a match point in the process.  So – today’s win was just by one point in two separate matches.  It doesn’t get closer than that!  Wow.  Great fight ladies in another TEAM win!

The varsity is off for a week now – which is needed as a lot of our varsity girls are headed to New York for the music trip.  Our JV/JH will play on Thursday in Jamestown.
