JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High baseball team traveled to Minot on Tuesday night to battle the preseason favorite, Minot Magicians in a doubleheader. The Magi won both games by a run; 4-3 & 3-2.
The losses drop the Jays to 2-2 as they get set to open up Jack Brown Stadium on Monday welcoming in Williston.
In the first game, Carson Tonini came through with a base hit scoring the game winning run in the bottom half of the 7th inning. The Jays scored the first two runs of the game of and eventually leveled the game at three on a single by Aaron Kleven, he drove in two of their runs.
Minot scored first in game two, but Drew Murray and Ty Fischer each drove in runs to put the Jays in front in the fourth inning. Magi catcher Creighton Rudolph homered to tie the game and they added a sac fly in the fifth to game the lead.
