JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The final calls for service were compiled and released by the Jamestown Police Department and they show an overall increase for 2017.

According to the report, the department responded to 17,432 calls, up from 16,456 in 2016. That’s a reported increase of 5.8% for 2017. Calls that saw large increases from previous years included gross sexual imposition calls and suspicious person and activity calls.

Other calls that were up in 2017 included drug possession, delivery or sales of drugs, terrorizing, traffic stops, and warrant arrests.

At a March Stutsman County Commission meeting, Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist reported that the Jamestown Police Department was one of their primary users of the communications center. He reported that every call for service report for Jamestown and Stutsman County was up in 2017.
