JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for the month of March.
According to Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther’s report, there have been 74 total calls for the JFD so far in 2018. During the month of march, the department responded to a car fire, a hazmat response, and several alarm activation’s. You can read Chief Reuther’s full report below:
Call No. 61 March 3rd, 7:44AM, ready squad responded to 112 6th Ave SE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt food. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.
Call No. 62 March 3rd, 2:38PM, ready squad responded to 919 8th Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to check for carbon monoxide. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 20 ppm was detected. Cause-fire place. Time out 35 minutes.
Call No. 63 March 6th, 3:40AM, ready squad responded to 721 15th St NW, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Time out 30 minutes.
Call No. 64 March 6th, 4:11PM, ready squad responded to 222 1st Ave SW, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate strange odor. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 20 minutes.
Call No. 65 March 10th, 9:17PM, fire department heavy rescue responded to I94 Mile Marker #267 to a report of person/s trapped in vehicle. Rescue units were canceled enroute, no extrication needed. Time out 20 minutes.
Call No. 66 March 13th, 7:19PM, fire department hazmat responded to 205 6th St SE, to assist JPD on a suspicious package. Hazmat team set up decontamination for entry team. Fargo hazmat team assisted in collecting evidence that was later taken to state lab by ND Highway Patrol. Time out 5 hours 40 mminutes.
Call No. 67 March 14th, 10:43AM, ready squad responded to 705 11th St SE, Single Family Dwelling, to check for carbon monoxide. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 0 ppm was detected. Cause-faulty detector. Time out 20 minutes.
Call No. 68 March 15th, 8:33AM, ready squad responded to 1200 15th Ave SW, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate gas odor. Firefighters checked the structure and could smell natural gas. Montana Dakota Utilities was contact and arrived on scene to help investigate the gas smell. Time out 1 hour.
Call No. 69 March 21st, 11:32PM, ready squad responded to 800 12th Ave NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate to investigate strange odor. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 55 minutes.
Call No. 70 March 21st, 6:49AM, ready squad responded to 502 13th St SE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke odor. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-bathroom vent. Time out 20 minutes.
Call No. 71 March 23rd, 9:47PM, ready squad responded to 715 3rd Ave SE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-power outage activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was rest. Time out 35 minutes.
Call No. 72 March 24th, 10:15AM, ready squad responded to 500 17th St SE, Buffalo Museum, to investigate alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-dust from constructions work activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 30 minutes.
Call No. 73 March 26th, 5:27PM, ready squad responded to 1409 8th Ave NE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate smoke odor. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 25 minutes.
Call No. 74 March 26th, 7:49PM, fire department responded to 10th St and 2nd Ave SE, to a report of a vehicle fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-engine compartment fire, undetermined. No injuries reported. Time out 45 minutes.
