BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The deadline has come and gone to have permanent ice houses removed from state waters.

The North Dakota Game & Fish Department reports that permanent ice houses needed to be removed by Thursday, March 15th. Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says they are still encouraging residents to get out and fish.

Leier says while ice houses need to be removed, it doesn’t mean residents need to stop ice fishing all together.

In other hunting news, Leier says snow geese are starting to migrate more into the state.

You can catch Doug Leier every Thursday morning at 7:20 AM with JD in the Morning on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM.
