JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The ice skaters of the James River Figure Skating Club are preparing for the 41st Annual Ice Show beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday this week.

“Magnificent Musicals: A Tribute to Broadway” will showcase the talents of several skaters. The club, run entirely on volunteers and fundraising, will have tons of talent to show according to parent volunteer Judy Jorgenson.

Skaters ranging from ages of 3 to 18 will perform solos, group performances and more to songs made famous from Broadway musicals.

Something special to this year will be skating alumni who will also be putting on a performance. Alum skater Chelsea Huber says she and several others have been practicing their routine for the past few days.

Huber says other alum participating are all doing very different things in their lives, but skating remains an important part of it.

As part of the four shows, Jorgenson says they will have a boutique set up. With this, participants can purchase items to send back to their favorite skater while raising money for the club.

The show will be Friday at 7 PM, Saturday at 2 PM and 7 PM, and Sunday at 2 PM at Wilson Arena in Jamestown. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students, but will be two dollars more at the door on the days of the event.
