VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Permanent flood protection phase 2 work will continue in Valley City starting on Monday, March 12. Main Street will be closed between Central Avenue and 5th Avenue NW.

Local traffic will be permitted to businesses inside of the road closures. Traffic will be detoured onto 2nd Street NW during this shut down.

A new truck route detour will be added utilizing 9th Avenue NW, 12th Street North and 5th Avenue NE. The contractor will begin removing Main Street and work on the construction of the flood walls will continue. Main Street will be closed for the 2018 construction season.
