JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Virtually every category in the 2017 Stutsman County Communications call for service report was up compared to 2016.
Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist presented the breakdown of the statistics for the emergency center in 2017. He informed the Stutsman County Commission Tuesday that the three primary users of the communications center were the Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, and Jamestown Ambulance.
The Jamestown Police Department had around 17,432 calls go through the communications center. The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department saw around 7,844 and the Jamestown Ambulance had 1,810 calls. Bergquist reported that the call count, both incoming and outgoing, were way up in 2017.
Bergquist says of the 6,396 911 phone calls received, 5,001 of them were with cell phones. He says that accounts for around 79% of their total 911 calls.
In other Stutsman County news, the commission approved to send their support to bring in Skywest for another two-years of service to the Jamestown Regional Airport.
