JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A storm currently hitting the state has closed down schools, universities, and businesses. Now an alert for no travel advised is being issued by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Chad Kaiser reports that due to heavy snow blanketing the area and dropping temperatures, no travel is being advised for all of Stutsman County.

“We’ll have the county snow plows out either this evening or early Tuesday morning,” Sheriff Kaiser reports. “We’ll be closing the Law Enforcement Center and Courthouse as well as sending non-essential employees home at 2 PM today.”

A no travel advisory means weather conditions are rapidly deteriorating and could lead to dangerous and hazardous travel. Motorists should not travel due to hazardous conditions which may make it unsafe to travel.
