JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – No injuries were reported when the Jamestown Fire Department responded to an apartment in the northeast part of Jamestown Wednesday afternoon.
Officials report that at around 3 PM Wednesday afternoon, crews were called to 1321 5th Street Northeast for smoke coming from a lower level apartment unit. Crews found the origin of the smoke was coming from a microwave oven. Jamestown Police evacuated residents who wished to leave because of the smoke.
The fire department checked for any spread of fire and extracted the smoke and no additional fire was reported. The fire was contained to the microwave oven.
Six units and 20 fire fighters were on scene for around 45 minutes.
