CITY (NewsDakota.com) A few residents who live along 9th avenue northwest voiced concern for the high cost of special assessments of their property with the upcoming reconstruction project.
Mike Bresnahan says one neighbor’s estimated special assessment is $40,000 dollars.
His wife Gail Bresnahan asked the city commission if there was a better way to allot special assessments in the city.
City Auditor Avis Richter says the city has worked to reduce the cost per linear foot from $116 to $103. She says the city will continue to look at other ways to reduce the cost of the local share of that project.
