FARGO, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals only lead of the quarterfinal duals against No. 5 Velva on Thursday morning was at the very end, 38-37, and that would be the final score as well.  The Cardinals will move into the semifinal round on Friday afternoon about 2pm at the Fargodome and take on No. 1 Lisbon Broncos.  All the action can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK the Cardinal and newsdakota.com.

The Broncos beat Carrington last year in the semifinal and later fell to Hettinger-Scranton in the championship, Carrington beat Minot Bishop Ryan for third place last year.

After the first day of the individual portion of the state tourney this year, Carrington currently in second place behind Lisbon, New Salem/Almont in third place, Hettinger-Scranton in fourth place and Hillsboro/Central Valley in fifth place.
