COLFAX, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Maple Valley girls basketball team saw their season end in the play-in round of the Class B Region I Tournament, losing at Richland High to the Colts by a 56-52 margin.
The Raiders (5-16) had a four point lead after the end of the first, and had an advantage as large as six in the second quarter, before the Colts powered to a three point lead after the third, and held off a late surge in the end to snap a four game home losing streak.
8th grader Megan Roob had a game high 26 points in the victory. Senior Sierra Wendt lead the Raiders in her final game with 23 points.
Richland (7-14) advances to the quarterfinal round of the tournament Monday in Fargo, as they meet Lisbon. Coverage can be heard on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com around 6 p.m.
