WIMBLEDON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Barnes County North boys’ basketball team was pushed to overtime for the second game in a row and were again on the winning end topping Warwick 77-71 Thursday night.

Trailing 35-25 at the halftime they were able to cut their deficit to 49-42 going into the 4th quarter. The Bison would outscore their opponent 21-14 to tie the game up at 63 at the end of regulation.

Allen Contreras and Mason Haugen combined for 10 of BCN’s 14 overtime points to help propel them to their third straight win.

Contreras and Colby Bruner both had big nights for The Bison, scoring 28 and 20 points. Haugen and Tristin Roaldson added 10 points each.

Warwick had four in double figures led by Julian Hill’s 24. Eric Belgarde scored 15, Paul Thiele 12 and Johan Jackson 10.

The Warrior’s record now sits at 5-10. Barnes County North moves to 7-10, they are back home next Friday to play Sargent Central.
