JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Giving Hearts Day is scheduled for February 8th, so NewsDakota.com will highlight a variety of the different non-profit organizations that will be benefiting from the upcoming 24-hour online donation day.

Alpha Opportunities, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been serving adults with disabilities in Jamestown for over 30 years. Their goal is to remove barriers and provide purpose for those they serve.

Laurie Podoll is the Associate Director of the Day Program for Alpha Opportunities, Inc.

Alpha Opportunities serves individuals age 21 to 70 plus, getting them involved in a variety of community things. Podoll says this will be their second Giving Hearts Day to raise money for their mission.

Podoll says this year for Giving Hearts Day, they’re highlighting “Tom’s Story”, encouraging donors to #BeLikeTom while sharing his story with everyone.

Giving Hearts Day is a one-day online donation event on February 8th where over 400 non-profit organizations benefit from a 24 hour fundraising event. In 2017, about 22,000 people donated over $10 million to different organizations of their choice. For more, visit impactgiveback.org.
