JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Giving Hearts Day is scheduled for February 8th, so NewsDakota.com will highlight a variety of the different non-profit organizations that will be benefiting from the upcoming 24-hour online donation day.

In 1883, six years before North Dakota became a state, Jamestown College opened and began providing an education for a number of students. Since then, there’s been a name change, several other courses offered and enrollment has reached all time highs.

The University of Jamestown has been able to keep providing these students quality education through their scholarships.

Jim Klemann is the Director of Annual Giving at the University and says Giving Hearts Day is a big benefit for them and other non-profits.

Klemann says the number one way they benefit from Giving Hearts Day is scholarships.

The amount raised annually thanks to donations and Giving Hearts Day is impressive.

Klemann also points out that learning about each non-profits contributions to the community is a big part of Giving Hearts Day.

Giving Hearts Day is a one-day online donation event on February 8th where over 400 non-profit organizations benefit from a 24 hour fundraising event. In 2017, about 22,000 people donated over $10 million to different organizations of their choice. For more, visit impactgiveback.org.
