CITY (NewsDakota.com) Cassandra Fick, a senior at Litchville-Marion High School received a ,000 Chevy Scholar scholarship from West Dakota Chevy Dealers on Friday.

Fick said, she’ll use the money for tuition as she pursues a teaching degree at Valley City State University this fall.

Finalists were determined by their community involvement, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, volunteer work and a personal essay.

Fick was surrounded by family and friends at Perkins Inc in Valley City as she was handed the $5,000 check by local Dealership owner Jerry Perkins on Friday.

Other Scholarship winners were; Brandon Swanson of Devils Lake, Austin Mack of Dickinson and DeeAnna Ziegler of Hazen.
