N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council combined several committee meetings on Tuesday, January 23rd at the City Hall to discuss numerous items. Council members Steve Brubakken and Dan Buchanan were absent.

During the Finance & Legal Committee portion, the committee looked at consideration for an agreement renewal with the Jamestown Community Correction Program and creating a fee of $3.00 per hour for services. Mayor Katie Andersen says the item still needs some discussion before they approve.

During the Civic Center and Promotion Committee meeting, Greg Carlson with the Roughrider Rodeo Association came before the council to discuss renewal of their contract for 2018 to keep the state rodeo in Jamestown.

Councilwoman Pam Phillips informed Carlson and the committee that City Attorney Leo Ryan preferred a one year contract.

Councilman Ramone Gumke stated a one year contract gives all the entities more flexibility.

The committee didn’t need to make a motion on the item.

Later in the meeting, City Administrator Jeff Fuchs informed the committee that they still needed to look at security rates for public events.

Fuchs also made mention of rate increases that would need approval soon.
