N.D. — A significant severe weather outbreak is possible across south central North Dakota and the James River Valley today.

The Storm Prediction Center based in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms today.  Storms are expected to rapidly develop this afternoon and continue into the evening.  Large hail greater then two inches in diameter, damaging winds in excess of 75 miles per hour and tornadoes are possible today.  The National Weather Service has a particular concern with south central North Dakota and the James River Valley as all indications point to a potentially dangerous severe thunderstorm scenario.

South central North Dakota and the James River Valley should pay particular attention to weather updates on Ingstad Family Media stations through out the day as an elevated risk for significant severe weather, especially tornadoes, is expected this afternoon and evening.
