Warren Elm, age 89, of Valley City, died Sunday, December 24th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at the Sheyenne Care Center Chapel in Valley City. Visitation will be held one hour before the service Wednesday afternoon at the Care Center Chapel. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.

Warren LeRoy Elm was born March 29, 1928 to Otto and Clara Elm in Skandia Township. He attended a one-room rural school, Skandia Township #60, and went on to Hastings High School and graduated from Litchville High School in 1947.

Warren helped his father on the farm until entering the US Army in 1951, spending his military career at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Warren worked in electronics in Minneapolis and later did TV repair for Dawkin’s Electric eventually having his own TV repair business in addition to farming. On April 20, 1985, he married Margaret Schall at St. Paul, MN and they moved back to his home place at Litchville, ND. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, trapping and fishing.

Survivors are a sister, Arlene Simpson (Valley City), a nephew, Arlee Simpson (Dilworth, MN) and a niece, Ila Marvel (Bismarck, ND).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; a brother, Clayton Elm; a brother-in-law, John Simpson; and his parents.
