N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Kidder County jumped out to a 17-4 lead after one quarter and never looked back on the way to a 60-22 win over Ellendale in girls basketball Thursday night in Steele.
Grace Benz and Jaslyn Magstadt each scored 14 points in the first half as the Wolves built a 42-15 lead at the break.
The second half was more of the same as Ellendale mustered only seven points in the second half and ended the game with 30 turnovers.
Benz led the Wolves with 18 points. Magstadt finished with 14 points. Madelyn Schmidt added 15 points and six rebounds.
Alyssa Nishek led the Cardinals with eight points. Katelyn Dathe had eight rebounds and Macy Young had seven for Ellendale who falls to 4-5 on the season. The Cardinals are off until after the new year when they host Midkota on January 2nd.
Kidder County improves to 5-3. The Wolves play two games over the holidays. They face top ranked Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich and Enderlin at the Jamestown Civic Center December 29th and 30th.
