N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High basketball teams traveled to Mandan to battle the Braves, both of whom are ranked #4 in the latest polls.
GBB: #4 Mandan 76, Jamestown 65.
Mandan lead by 14 early in the second half, before Megan Gaffaney spearheaded the comeback to tie the game at 59. Gaffaney scored 10 points in quick succession. She finished with 18.
Once the game was tied, Jamestown hit another one of their patented droughts. Mandan went on an 11-0 run to go ahead for good. They ended the game on a 17-6 run.
Courtney Peterson lead the scoring for the Jays with 22. Courtney Olson (21) and Megan Zander (20) paced Mandan.
BBB: #4 Mandan 73, Jamestown 58.
The Jays lead at 16-14 before Mandan opened up on an 12-0 run to take the lead with about 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
Braves sophomore Elijah Klein had a big night with 19 including five offensive rebounds in the second half during the run that buried the Jays.
Jamestown travels to Legacy on Thursday for their final conference game before the Christmas holiday.
