N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Barnes County North girls’ basketball kept pace with Dakota Prairie Thursday night with the exception of the 3rd quarter and that proved to be the difference maker. The Knights defeated The Bison 55-44.

At the end of the first quarter BCN trailed 13-11 and went into halftime down 23-21. In the 3rd quarter Dakota Prairie outscored The Bison 17-8. Each team had 15 points over the final 8 minutes.

BCN’s Tabitha Muncy hit a pair of 3s to pace their offense with 16 points. Bailey Soupir scored 8 and Clara Wieland 7. Dakota Prairie sophomore Shaye Frederick had 9 points in the opening period and finished the night with 26. Paige Haakenson added 12.

The Bison drop to 3-3 on the season, Monday night they return home to face New Rockford Sheyenne.
