CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Valley City will receive $2.2 million dollars from the State Water Commission for flood protection and riverbank erosion.
The money will be used for flood buyouts, design engineering for protecting the Master Lift Station, razing the mill dam elevators and riverbank erosion repair work along Riverview drive and in the Woodland Park area.
City Administrator David Schelkoph talked about the focus of the funding with reporter Steve Urness.
The State Water Commission approved the funding during their December 8th meeting in Bismarck.
Schelkoph said the cost share ratio for Phase III of the Permanent Flood protection project is an 80/20 split. He said the design engineering ratio is an 85/15 split and the Phase IV buyout ratio is a 75/25 split for the city of Valley City.
