N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 29 area kids got an early Christmas during the annual Cops & Kids event in Jamestown.
Cops & Kids is an annual shopping event where kids are matched up with a local law enforcement officer. They then are allowed to spend up to $100 to purchase gifts for themselves or their families.
Jamestown Police Officer and School Resource Officer Andrew Staska says the event is for the kids. He says some of the kids shopped for necessities rather than for Christmas.
Members of the Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Fraternal Order of Police, James River Correctional Center, and Stutsman County Correctional Center all assisted the kids while they shopped on December 10th.
