VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 1974 Cessna Cardinal airplane flying from Fargo to Bismarck had to make an emergency landing Saturday, December 2nd due to total engine failure.
The Highway Patrol said the pilot Jerry Schauer of Bismarck had to land the airplane west of Valley City onto I-94 around mile marker 280 in the westbound lane and then taxi into the north ditch. The landing occurred 12 miles west of Valley City. There was no damage to the airplane and the pilot was not hurt.
The FAA is aware of the incident and representatives will coordinate a response with the pilot. There will be no investigation conducted by the North Dakota Highway patrol.
