CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The first North Dakota Class A Wrestling Coaches’ Poll of the season has Valley City ranked 7th in the state and 2nd in The EDC.

In the region poll The Hi-Liners sit only behind West Fargo with Davies behind them in 3rd. For the state poll Bismarck was pick as the top team followed by Minot and Mandan. Century was picked 4th ,West Fargo 5th and Turtle Mountain 6th. Davies, Dickinson and St.Mary’s round out the top 10.

Seven Hi-Liners appeared in the individual polls. Parker Larson, who placed 3rd at the state meet last year, was ranked 3rd at 132. Also ranked 3rd were David Peterson at 160 and Logan Erlandson 3rd at 182. Receiving 6th place rankings were Jonathan Langer at 152, Jared Undem 170, Jake Tangen 195 and Jaden Oestern 285.

Last season The Hi-Liners finished 4th in The EDC and qualified for state. Individually 10 wrestlers advanced on to the state meet. They open their season Tuesday at Grand Forks Central.
