N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – From October 13 through October 31, law enforcement agencies across the state deployed extra patrols to prevent underage drinking. A total of 114 citations were attributed to the added patrols, including 13 counts of minor in consumption, nine counts of minor in possession, seven open container citations, six driving under the influence (DUI) arrests and ten drug-related citations.
Traffic stops by the added patrols also resulted in two felony arrests, six warrants served, and 13 speeding tickets.
Funding for additional traffic safety enforcement is provided by federal grant money distributed through the North Dakota Department of Transportation. High-visibility enforcement for traffic safety is one element of a collaborative effort to eliminate motor vehicle deaths in North Dakota.
