N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Salvation Army of Jamestown is preparing to kick off their largest fundraiser on November 1st.
“Everyone is invited to come learn how your donation impacts people in Stutsman County,” states Major Tim Nauta. “Every month, the Salvation Army provides over 10,000 pounds of food to needy families.”
Major Nauta will be speaking at the Harold Newman Arena at noon. Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen will also speak.
“[We] offer assistance with rent, utilities, emergency shelter, transpiration, clothing and furniture. The Pathway of Hope program helps people set and achieve goals to become more self-sustained,” Nauta pointed out.
The initiative is a long-term approach to providing targeted services to families with a desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of inter-generational poverty.
This will lead into the Red Kettle Campaign, which is the largest fundraiser for the Salvation Army and will maintain their services for 2018.
