(NewsDakota.com) – Southeast District Court Judge Thomas Merrick says there could be a decision next week on whether a murder trial will happen this August in Stutsman County District Court.
Leron Lee Howard is scheduled to face a jury trial in August in relation to the death of Abdi Ali Ahmed back in April, 2011. Howard is charged with murder and criminal conspiracy.
Janelle Alexandra Cave was tried in February in the same case and was convicted of manslaughter and criminal conspiracy. Because the case has already been tried in Stutsman County, there is a concern that the court may be unable to find an impartial jury.
Merrick says there has been no decision made yet on where to hold Howard’s trial, but a decision could be announced next week.
